Coordinator, Out of School Hours Care

Creating Links (NSW) Ltd is a growing not-for profit community organisation that focuses on developing dynamic, resilient, confident and inclusive communities and families in Metropolitan Sydney.

We are looking for an experienced, highly motivated, committed person to join our dynamic team in the position of Coordinator, Out of School Hours Care.

The purpose of the role is to lead the development, implementation and evaluation of Out of School Hours services, including vacation care, at our Bankstown and Birrong centres. This permanent part-time opportunity (30 hours per week) involves some direct service delivery in before and after-school care, vacation care, as well as service coordination and administration duties.

Essential Criteria

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Children’s Services
  • Current First Aid Certificate, Anaphylaxis and Asthma Certificates
  • Valid working with Children’s Check Clearance
  • Current drivers licence with no restrictions

Skills and Knowledge

  • Demonstrated capacity to lead, coordinate and deliver high quality children’s services
  • Demonstrated understanding of contemporary child care and early learning practices and issues, including the National Quality Framework (NQF), National Quality Standards (NQS), and My Time Our Place (School Aged Framework)
  • Understanding of Work, Health & Safety legislation and Equal Employment Opportunity requirements
  • Ability to work in a team and to exercise tact, discretion and sound judgement
  • Effective time management skills
  • High level interpersonal communication skills, which meets the needs of children, parents, staff and key stakeholders
  • Sound written and verbal communication skills, including report-writing skills
  • Computer competency in utilising child care management software and MS Office

Desirable Criteria

  • Fluency in a second relevant community language as well as English
  • Working knowledge of Proda, QikKids software program or other CRM

Salary is in accordance with the Children’s Services Award 2010 (Level 6) with commencement salary based on experience. We offer salary packaging.
