Established in 2006, the Summer Foundation exists to resolve the issue of young people living in Residential Aged Care (RAC). Young people with disability have the right to live where, how and with whomever they choose. They deserve to be appropriately and adequately supported to achieve these choices.
This is a problem that could be solved within the next decade.
Our strategy is to influence the evolution of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). We simultaneously influence the systems and markets that surround, support and impact young people with disability living in RAC or those at risk of entering RAC.
Systems change requires collaboration and engagement from all stakeholder groups in the systems we seek to influence. We continually assess our relationship with stakeholders to determine whether leading, partnering with or informing will achieve the greatest systems impact.
Central to our stakeholder engagement are young people with disability and their families. Our stakeholders also include the disability, housing, health and aged care systems across the government, private and community sectors.
As the Business Manager - Housing Matching, you will lead the successful operations of the recently established Housing Matching business line. With a focus on expanding the impact of the Housing Matching product, you will effectively engage with key stakeholders and potential partners and be able to position the product as a valuable service that meets a social issue in the community. You will form relationships and develop a key supplier network across Australia to ensure that the business model has a strong base of reliable contractors/partners and provide leadership to the growing team of staff. Finally, you will effectively manage the business ensuring a strong operating environment is achieved and the financial sustainability of the enterprise is well managed.
To be successful in this role, you will have a track record of successfully running a business and delivering in a customer service type environment. You have the ability to develop business modelling scenarios to determine paths of action and their respective implications and work in an agile and flexible manner. You bring an open mind to the workplace and don’t mind working with ambiguity. Experience working with or in a community focused organisation will be highly regarded and demonstrated experience effectively managing an operating budget is a must.
