Our client has recently merged with a larger housing provider and their combined mission is to provide appropriate, secure and affordable housing to those who are homeless or at risk of homelessness and to work in partnership with their communities and all levels of government to build inclusive neighbourhoods which are socially, environmentally and economically sustainable.
The Client Service Officer reports to the General Manager and provides tenancy and property management services to 110-120 households. The role is varied, busy and extremely rewarding.

Ideally you come from a tenancy management background either in real estate or social housing and understand the issues surrounding those affected by housing and homelessness.

You will be responsible for:

  1. Property inspections and ensuring properties are maintained
  2. Managing rent, rent arrears and other debt
  3. Working with support providers to help the tenant sustain their tenancy
  4. Responding to tenant inquiries, complaints and appeals
  5. Accurately recording all tenant information in the tenant management system.

Please respond to the following essential criteria in your cover letter:

  • Your experience in tenancy management with a focus on how you have supported clients who are disadvantaged, vulnerable or with multiple and complex needs.
  • An outline of your technical knowledge in property inspections and maintenance issues
  • Your knowledge and experience with using tenancy management systems
  • Your knowledge of the Residential Tenancy Act and experience with representation at the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal (NCAT)
  • Your ability to meet arrears, vacant, void and other KPI's

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent work experience
  • Sound understanding of tenancy management and programs
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • A commitment to excellence in service delivery and customer satisfaction
  • A belief that safe and affordable housing is a right for everyone
  • Excellent relationship management and communication skills
  • A resilient and positive nature who demonstrates honesty, integrity and empathy.
