About the Role

CareSouth are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Caseworker to join the CareSouth Wagga Wagga Team, on a Full Time fixed term basis (12 months).

The Caseworker position is a dynamic and multi-faceted role in which you will be responsible for a number of key result areas in the Wagga Wagga region. You may be involved from the very start, right through to when the young person leaves care within their service region.

The successful applicant will have:

  • Demonstrate a commitment to the safety of children, young people and people with a disability
  • Degree in Social Work, Psychology or Diploma in Social Sciences/Social Welfare or equivalent.
  • Understanding of the ongoing effects of injuries, trauma and/or neglect and abuse.
  • Ability to assess, prepare assessment reports and case manage the individual needs of children and young people and their families.
  • Ability to undertake crisis intervention and support of children and young people in care.
  • Experience in recruiting, assessing and/or working with carers.
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with referral agencies and community carers.
  • Knowledge of the context and impact of the issues arising from children and young people being in Out of Home Care.
