Skills Required

Ideally you have leadership experience in disability services. Otherwise you have proven abilities managing escalated situations, including supporting vulnerable people in crisis. You're also able to inspire and lead high performing diverse teams and have the following skills and experience:

  1. Leadership experience working in challenging communities
  2. An ability to deliver a therapeutic model of care
  3. High level engagement and relationship building skills
  4. Relevant tertiary qualifications in disability or related discipline
  5. Monitoring expenses, reporting and general administrative duties
  6. You must hold a current Australian driver's license and have access to a fully comprehensively insured vehicle and be able to successfully complete a police check and working with children check. There may be some out of hours and weekend work required.

The Position

We are seeking a great team leader who is passionate and motivated in making a positive difference in the lives of vulnerable children living in our community. The team leaders will supervise and manage their team, who will be responsible for the highest possible standard of care for the children 24/7. Staff supervision, outstanding customer service, quality of care and continuous quality improvement are the hallmarks of this position. Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  1. Assess, coach and mentor support workers to ensure continuous improvement in service delivery
  2. Review team performance to ensure clients access opportunities and engage in meaningful activity
  3. Generate regular reports and manage work load and rosters in the homes
  4. Oversee support worker recruitment, induction and orientation
  5. Participate and contribute to regular leadership meetings and training

Requirements, Skills and Expertise

  1. At least Certificate IV in Disability/Child Protection or relevant experience
  2. Minimum 2 years experience in residential/respite services
  3. At least 1 year Team Leader Experience
  4. Excellent leadership skills
  5. Excellent administrative and record keeping skills
  6. Proficient in person centred planning and ensuring the service is NDIS ready
  7. Excellent understanding of Work Health and Safety
  8. Current Drivers Licence and Current First Aid Certificate
