Explorability Inc. provides an individual advocacy service to promote the rights of people with disability, their families and carers in Western Australia.
Explorability is seeking to recruit an Individual Advocate for a 12-month contract to provide advocacy for people with disability and mental health and will work closely in partnership with individuals, families, carers and services throughout WA.
Explorability is seeking a person who can demonstrate the following:
- A relevant degree or associate diploma with relevant experience or substantial relevant experience demonstrating an equivalent level of knowledge, expertise and skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of disability and/or mental health, including knowledge of, and a commitment to, contemporary principles and practices.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including strong negotiation and facilitation skills.
- Ability to work autonomously or as part of a team.
- Excellent organisational skills, including the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Strong research and analytical skills.
- Relevant computer skills, such as using database systems and Microsoft Office.
- A current driver’s licence.
To consolidate the existing skills, experience and expertise within the organisation, individuals with a background in mental health are strongly encouraged to apply.
