About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to attend free training in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) as a part of our recruitment for Residential Support Workers in Coffs Harbour.
  
This training will be conducted over 3 days, from 25th - 27th July 2018 (inclusive).  This is the first step in our recruitment process and if selected, your attendance will be required to enable us to progress your application.

TCI training provides you with standalone skills in dealing with Crisis situations and behaviours in a residential workplace stemming from significant traumatic experiences. 
                                                         
We are seeking outgoing individuals who are prepared to be taken out of their comfort zones and engage in unique and exciting activities throughout the training course. This training will challenge you and give you the opportunity to demonstrate your ability in dealing with a crisis situation within a residential setting as part of our recruitment process. Successful participants will receive certification.
  
Through your attendance at this training, you will have already completed a significant part of our induction package which will be of benefit should you become successful in in your application.
  
Key Responsibilities

• Provide day to day care, supervision and transport to children and young people
• Actively participate in activities and increase competencies of young people
• Mentoring 
• Maintenance of progress notes and report writing
• Support and encourage the involvement of family

 Skills & Experience:

• Certificate IV in Community Services, Youth Work or similar
• A current Senior First Aid Certificate
• A current unrestricted Driver Licence
• Ability to work various shifts (sleepover & active nights) over a 24/7 roster
• Prior knowledge and/or experience working with young people

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check.
