The Role:

The Performance Manager is responsible and accountable for ensuring the delivery, high performance and financial viability of Employment Services Contracts (DES and jobactive), and other programs provided in their Site, in accordance with contractual requirements and internal policies/procedures.

This position is responsible for the overseeing of the Narrabri and Wee Waa offices.

The position is responsible for developing a high performing team that is passionate about what they do and are committed to continuous improvement and growth. The ability to lead, motivate and inspire employees is paramount, as is the ability to maintain excellent operational knowledge in order to coach the team to achieve outstanding results. This will involve capitalising on the individual strengths of staff and performance managing team members not achieving required standards.

This will be a full time position (38hrs per week, Monday - Friday). The position will be based at our Narrabri office.

Responsibilities will include

  • Ensure the smooth operation the Site including adherence to policies, procedures and operational processes, staff management, resource/asset management, complaint resolution and reporting.
  • Liaise closely with other service providers including training providers, community services and allied health providers to develop effective networks that enable participant access to services, strategic partnerships and identification of business opportunities.
  • Oversee team and individual performance ensuring claims targets are met and exceeded. Implement performance management strategies if team or individual performance issues are identified.
  • Attract and retain talented people to roles within the Site
  • Provide regular performance feedback to staff and include opportunities for staff to contribute to team planning and innovation through regular Site meetings.
  • Monitor and report on budget and operational activity, providing corrective recommendations when identified.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of funding deed requirements.
  • Complete all required documentation and electronic transactions in accordance with Departmental requirements and established BEST processes.
  • Actively and positively promote BEST to local employers and community agencies/service providers at local forums, chamber of commerce meetings, relevant community activities/functions, inter-agency meetings etc. to identify and initiate business development opportunities (including partnerships)
  • Allocate resources and duties within the site
  • Ensure and allow open internal communication to all levels within the organisation
  • Create an environment conducive to quick resolution of conflict and issues
  • Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of the local labour market

Selection Criteria:

Essential

  • Proven ability to lead, manage and motivate staff and create a positive and productive team culture;
  • Successful history of managing a team to meet or exceed targets;
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written);
  • Appropriate computer experience and skills including the use of applications such as Microsoft Office programs, 3rd party employment services software packages, Internet and Email.
  • Excellent time management skills with a logical and methodical approach to implementing efficient processes, people management and effective work practices;
  • Proven ability work in fast paced target driven environment
  • Proven understanding of Privacy and Confidentiality Principles;
  • Current Car Drivers Licence (class C or above)

Desirable

Previous Leadership/Management experience and/or relevant qualifications in either the Employment Services or Community Services industries would be highly regarded, but is not considered an essential requirement.
