Part Time - 16.5 hours per week
Fixed term to 31 December 2018 (parental leave backfill)

In this role you will engage and provide relevant assistance and support to youth ‘at risk’ through intervention, youth support activities, referrals and community connections in line with the values and mission of TSA.

Key Selection Criteria:

  • An appreciation of and the ability and willingness to promote and support the values and ethos of The Salvation Army.
  • Relevant qualifications in Human Services or similar discipline, or extensive relevant experience
  • Current Driver’s licence
  • Current Positive Notice Blue Care for Child Related Employment or ability to obtain
  • Willingness to undergo a National Police Check
  • Demonstrated ability to provide one-on-one intensive support to youth ‘at risk’.
  • Demonstrated practical experience in handling youth crisis situations.
  • Ability to communicate with a range of internal and external clients including police, other non-government agencies, government departments and family members
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, facilitate and monitor life skills and personal development activities/programs.
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Sound written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong problem solving, decision making and evaluation skills
  • Sound computer literacy in a PC and Mac environment
  • Energetic and flexible with a positive attitude.
