Detail information about job Chief Procurement Officer. Terms and conditions vacancy

The YMCAs in Australia are seeking to appoint a Chief Procurement Officer to lead and establish a National Procurement Function (Melbourne based - South Melbourne/Kilsyth) through a transformational period.

This is a critical appointment that requires a highly commercial leader to work across the YMCA Movement (comprising of 18 entities) to drive a procurement function that is strategic, innovative and commercial in approach.

The procurement function is responsible for setting the procurement strategy aligned to business objectives, implementing group level policies, coordinating sourcing activities across the movement, and negotiating the best terms on behalf of member associations with preferred suppliers.

Once established and fully operational, all procurement activity will be supported by a robust and practical category management structure together with improved systems and policies to drive cost savings and improve safety and compliance standards across the movement.
3rd party engagement (whether for sourcing purposes or ongoing) encompassing a variety of tailored spend categories across childcare, leisure and campsites will be tailored to the specific requirements of the regional YMCA Associations. Owning these supplier relationships will be pivotal to driving compliance across the national footprint.

Recognition of the needs of all Australian associations across the movement will be as important as managing supplier relationships at the account level. The CPO will be instrumental in shaping the category management approach to deliver collaborative results across the movement.

The successful candidate will start on a 3-year contract role.

Applications close Tuesday 7th August 2018.
