RSPCA Darwin has a unique opportunity for a highly organised, people-oriented Foster and Volunteer Coordinator. Part of the Senior Team, the role will be responsible for acquiring, supporting, coordinating and enhancing the skill and engagement of volunteers and foster carers.

The role is 30-35 hours per week, based at the RSPCA shelter in Berrimah, with the nature of work requiring some availability on evenings and weekends.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Grow the number and skill of foster carers, volunteers and RSPCA Darwin members
  • Coordinate volunteers for regular operational activities (animal care, admin, facilities maintenance), events, in-home care and special projects
  • Engage and communicate with all stakeholders regularly
  • Advance and develop the Foster Programme and Volunteer Programme, including but not limited to implementation of new technology, training programmes and special interest groups
  • Grow and develop a Community Fundraising Volunteer group to enable a self-sustaining fundraising team
  • Data entry, reporting, delivery of regular training and inductions

Selection Criteria:

  • Engaging people person with exceptional communication skills
  • Proven high level organisational and coordination skills, with a passion for process and structure
  • Proven experience developing and implementing new projects and activities
  • Tech savvy, forward-thinking with a growth and improvement mindset and the skill to pull it off
  • Animal husbandry experience (e.g. veterinary nursing) will be highly regarded
