  • $70,030.22 – $81,475.30 + super
  • Regular RDO available

Are you interested in making a positive impact to the lives of individuals within our Community?  If so, the role of a Family Services Worker within the Family & Children Services Department at Moonee Valley City Council may be a great prospect for you.

Our Family Services programs are responsible for the coordination, advice, education and delivery of a broad range of services for both families and children. As these positions are funded by specific State Government grants, you will be responsible for delivering and implementing a range of Family Services Programs in line with the relevant legislation, guidelines and procedures. Promoting the safety, stability and development of children, young people and their families enhancing child, family, community connectedness and resilience are also strong components of these positions.

Reporting to the Team Leader Family Services, you will:

  • Deliver a range of Family Services programs and initiatives within the legislative and practice context outlined by the Strategic Framework for Family Services, 2007 and the Children Youth and Families Act, 2005
  • Provide services to families aligned with the DHHS Human Services Standards: empowerment, access and engagement, wellbeing and participation
  • Encourage children, families and carers to enhance their social networks and connectedness with their community and culture
  • Actively participate in the promotion of Moonee Valley Family Services across the health, education and welfare sector.

The successful applicant will hold a tertiary qualification in Human Services or related field combined with experience working with vulnerable children, youth and families in the provision of support and skill development services.
