People With Disabilities (WA) Inc. (PWdWA) is the peak disability consumer organisation in Western Australia. We are seeking a suitable person to provide independent, issue based, one to one advocacy for people with a disability.
We require a person with a demonstrated understanding of human rights and issues based advocacy who is confident working with people from a range of diverse backgrounds and can work with high levels of autonomy. Experience and understanding of the issues affecting people with disabilities (including mental health issues), their families and carers is desirable but not required for applicants with the right skill set and a willingness to learn.
The successful applicant will work from an office base in Nedlands and work a minimum of 60 hours per fortnight. The contract is for 12 months with the option of extension dependant on funding availability.
