We are currently seeking both Disability Support and Youth Support team members to join us in delivering person centered and outcome focused support across the Rockhampton region both within our Residential Out of Home Care services and our Disability Support Services.

Lifestyle Solutions deliver multiple Residential Out of Home Care Services for Children and Young People aged 12 – 17 years with complex to extreme support needs throughout Central Queensland region and have been doing so successfully for the past decade, we are seeking support workers who are passionate, dedicated and resilient with an understanding of the importance of supporting children and young people inline with our commitment to the Child Protection Act 1999, the Statement of Standards along with contributing to our commitment to being a Child Safe Organisation and an understanding or willingness to understand Child Safe Practices and their relevance to this position.

Support workers are strong positive role models who will be responsible for a wide range of duties including the provision of positive support in areas such as emotional behaviour, health, incident management, personal care and hygiene, transport, education, community access, cooking and domestic duties.  They will guide and support the Children and Young People to develop independent living skills whilst ensuring all their day to day care needs are being met, including the implementation of clear routines, structure and positive behaviour support practices and strategies.    

We have opportunities for casual, fixed term part time and full time support staff who are available to work weekdays, weekends, public holidays, morning, evening, night and sleep over shifts , ideally with the availability and flexibility to cover emergency shifts at short notice at times as well as the ability to commit to a consistent routine rotating roster.

Essential requirements:

Hold or be working towards obtaining a recognized relevant qualification prior to commencing direct work with children and young people

Experience providing direct care in residential services (Out of Home Care)

Good working knowledge of the Children and Young Person’s (Care and Protection) Act 1998 and associated standards

Ability to work collaboratively in a complex environment as a member of a multidisciplinary team

Sound practice and knowledge or significant experience in meeting the holistic needs of Children and Young People who may have Autism or Intellectual Disability

Drivers Licence

First Aid Certificate - or willingness to obtain one

Working With Children Check, 395 Clearance and National Criminal history check clearance

Available and willing to work weekdays, weekends, public holidays, morning, evening, night and sleep over shifts

Willing to travel to regional areas of Queensland ( Rockhampton, Gladstone, Mackay....

Willing to be flexible and available for emergency shifts/ short notice at times

Desirable criteria:

Experience working with Children and Young People who have experienced complex trauma backgrounds.

Experience working with Children Young People who display difficult or challenging behaviours.
