Jesmond Community Preschool is seeking the services of a passionate and motivated Diploma trained educator who is willing to go above and beyond to support our team in delivering a high quality service for our children and their families. Applicants must possess exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to work with people from a diverse range of backgrounds. They must also have exceptional time management skills, the ability to work under pressure and flexibility to work with the Director, staff and Management committee. It is vital that the candidate holds an approved Diploma in Children’s services certificate, a WWCC, a current first aid certificate, current asthma and anaphylaxis certificate and also a certificate in CPR. In addition the candidate must have undergone child protection training within the last 12 months or be willing to gain any of the above training prior to commencement.
Applicants should demonstrate their experience in early childhood and have an understanding of how a community based preschool runs. We deliver our program via floor books and also through using PowerPoint it is essential that the candidate has strong and effective computer skills and is willing to learn floor books if no prior experience is evident. They must also have experience at planning and implementing an educational program that reflects the principles, practices, EYLF, our philosophy and also the ability to follow on from experiences.
At our preschool we are very unique and the candidate must be able to be flexible, able to multi task, be able to be placed in high stressed situations and also exceptional communication skills is a must.
It is essential that the candidate has a positive state of mind, is dedicated and a very professional individual who can adapt to new situations in a warm and friendly manner. The candidate must also be eager to learn more about our preschool and the Early Childhood sector.

The position will be a 12month contract with the possibility of an extension. It is ideal if the candidate can commence work week 1 of term 3 2018. There will be a 3 month probation trail as well. The hours of work are Monday to Thursday 8am till 4pm, Unfortunately we are not flexible with days or times of employment due to staffing. The preschool offers excellent working conditions as well.
