2019 Teacher Vacancy - Learning Support Teacher at White Rock Campus

Trinity Anglican School (TAS) is a leading Independent Anglican school with an unrivalled reputation for excellence.  TAS is a highly regarded co-educational day school offering a premium education from Kindergarten to Year 12.

TAS is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced teacher to be responsible for implementing the School’s academic support programs. 

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate:

  • currency in knowledge, practice and professional engagement in relation to the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers (AITSL) and a commitment to continuous improvement
  • an ability to be innovative and integrate assistive technology into student learning programs where appropriate
  • knowledge of the current pedagogical approaches used within the school and Essential Skills of Classroom Management (ESCM) which underpin the school’s pedagogical and classroom management approaches
  • an active contribution to the co-curricular programs at TAS
  • a commitment to upskilling and attending regular professional development to ensure that TAS Learning Enrichment procedures and protocols are compliant with all current legislation and Independent Schools Queensland requirements
  • ability to adapt current structures and frameworks to respond to the needs of the students and the School in consultation with the Heads of Junior School and the Director of Innovation, Teaching and Learning, and
  • ability to liaise with TAS staff, parents, students, health and allied health professionals to achieve a collaborative and holistic approach to student programs and wellbeing.

Key duties and responsibilities include:

  • upskilling of teachers and teacher aides to work with students at risk
  • providing assistance to teachers to develop intervention strategies to assist students at risk
  • providing assistance to teachers in effectively implementing Individual Education Programs and Individual Learning Plans for specific students
  • promoting dialogue with all stakeholders to ensure good communication between all educational team members and the student’s family to promote informed decision making and consistent support, and
  • overseeing the Practices and Processes for supporting students with disability through the completion of the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability.

Successful applicants will have a dedicated and enthusiastic approach to teaching and must hold Teacher Registration with the Queensland College of Teachers.
