Detail information about job Scholarships & Tour Lead. Terms and conditions vacancy

We seek a full-time Scholarships and Tours Lead to continue to grow our dynamic, ground breaking JMF football (soccer) program, part of the Nangala Project. If you are a solutions-driven professional who would like to use your exceptional logistics and organisational skills to make a difference in the lives of talented young Aboriginal athletes, we’d love to hear from you. We are open to your career background to date, whether teaching, sports administration or any other preparatory role.

JMF commenced its Scholarship Program in 2015, with one student, and has since expanded it to six.  The program is about creating opportunities for talented young elite footballers who have a dream to pursue both their education and football in Sydney. It is a radically life changing opportunity for those talented young footballers in our program who show exceptional sporting ability. Our partner schools are Westfield Sports High School, SCEGGS Darlinghurst, Waverley College and St Catherine’s.

Feeding into the scholarship program, to create a representative pathway, is our touring program for hundreds of grassroots JMF players from remote Australia.

The scholarships role is a logistics, communications and pastoral care role in essence. It requires you to support the JMF scholarship holders, their families back home in the NT, and their Sydney host families and schools, football clubs, learning and wellbeing support in relation to each scholarship child’s situation. The position calls for a commitment to the social equity aims of JMF. You’ll need a mature approach with strong interpersonal skills and project co-ordination capability, be self-assured, and take a systemised approach to building and using processes. You will be clear and proactive in verbal and written communication. Applying governance infrastructure with diligent attention to detail is crucial. It is necessary to have the ability to think laterally to find solutions to the fluid and dynamic environment that our resilient remote region Aboriginal children need to navigate, with a move so far from home.

The tours role focuses on logistics support to in-community coaches and the JMF Program Manager for intrastate, interstate and overseas competition, training or immersion play, of teams of our young players. This part of the role needs a very high level of attention to detail and a well-structured, methodical approach to logistics. An intermediate level of financial literacy is required.
