Are you a qualified child care worker looking for a tree-change?
Merredin and Districts Childcare and Play School (MADCAPS) are seeking a Diploma Qualified Educator to join their friendly, enthusiastic team! This will be a Full Time position for a 6 month contract with a possibility of further employment.
Our not-for-profit, committee-run, 28-place long day care centre in Merredin requires a passionate and knowledgeable team member.
We are looking for a candidate who is hard working and has a passion for Early Years Learning. They will be well supported by the Management Committee and staff of the centre.
Merredin is a thriving town in the heart of WA's wheatbelt, located 260km east of Perth. Merredin is easy to access with train services running from Perth daily. This central wheatbelt town offers essential services, community, cultural and sporting facilities, as well as a variety of shopping and entertainment venues. Merredin boasts a newly constructed K-12 public school and a private primary school, as well as a large recreation centre with impressive facilities. 'Cummins Theatre' is the home of the Merredin Repertory Club and the Merredin Swimming Pool is open during the summer months. The local Supa IGA is open seven days a week and franchises such as; Subway, Chicken Treat, Comfort Style Furniture, Home Hardware and Target Country, plus many locally owned shops and services are also available. Our town boasts everything you need without the traffic and stress of metropolitan living. This position could be the perfect opportunity for the right applicant to try out a change of lifestyle in the country.
The Successful Applicant will have:
• Diploma of Children's Services OR an approved Early Childhood teaching qualification
• Knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework – with the ability to articulate their knowledge, understanding and expectations to other members of the team
• Sound experience working as an early childhood educator in a centre-based setting
• Working knowledge of the National Quality Standards and the new Education and Care Regulations
• Sound time management skills
• Current First Aid qualification
• Approved child protection training (or willingness to complete training)
• Friendly and reliable with a 'can do' attitude
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills
• Passion for Early Childhood Education
• Current Working with Children check, National Police Clearance and Medical Certificate
• Ability to work in Australia
