About the centre

We are a 120 place OSHC service held within the community hub and stadium of the Harvest Home Primary School. We cater for Harvest Home Primary with Before and After School Care Services opening at 6.30am and closing at 6.30pm. Our Holiday Club held during all school Holiday Periods offers spaces for all children within the local community.

With an ever-growing local community and a great reputation, both Harvest Home Primary and our service is growing in occupancy.

About the role

As a motivated and customer focused leader, the OSHC Coordinator will lead a highly engaged and dedicated team of Children's Programs staff in the exceptional delivery of the National Quality Framework in Outside School Hours Care.  

As a skilled and passionate Educator, the successful OSHC Coordinator will be able to take the service to the next level as a nurturing and family-focused service for our children and families, the community and your team

You will experience specialist support from a diverse and caring team, as you lead community and family engagement, with children at the heart of our service philosophy.

This position is also open to part-time applicants.


Duties

  • Oversee consistent high-quality practice within the OSHC Service
  • Initiate and support a culture of innovative Early Childhood practices, resources and professional development for all team members while implementing the YMCA Children's Services philosophy.
  • Identity and respond to service improvement opportunities, including daily operations and systems management to plan and meet budgetary requirements
  • Utilise internal and external marketing initiatives to meet OSHC occupancy and retention targets


Selection criteria

  • Team Development: Showcase strong leadership abilities while supporting the local team of Educators with an emphasis on collaboration, communication, empowerment and engagement.
  • Business Development:  Ability to plan, develop and meet short and long-term goals to strengthen the operations of the service and drive strategic planning.
  • Inter-personal skills:  Possess excellent verbal and written communications skills and well-developed emotional intelligence
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, including the ability to delegate, prioritise and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.


Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications in relevant field (or equivalent)
  • First Aid Level II, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis (or willingness to obtain)
  • Working with Children Check
  • Victorian Crimcheck (obtained prior to employment)
  • ACF SCYP Certificate
  • Drivers Licence
