The Education Portfolio is headed by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Education and Vice President who leads the planning and implementation of the University’s strategies related to RMIT’s academic programs and the RMIT student experience. The Portfolio is responsible for services to support the quality of RMIT programs, including the professional development of academic staff, continuous improvement of the student experience, learning and teaching outcomes and the management of learning and research information sources.

The Academic Registrar's Group (ARG) is responsible for the administrative, policy and governance activities of the University which relate to the student lifecycle. The ARG operating environment is highly complex; the University has more than 82,000 students enrolled in both vocational and higher education programs, at campuses in Melbourne, Europe and Vietnam, and at several offshore locations in conjunction with educational and industry partners.

The Role & Your Responsibilities

The Advisor, Student Records is responsible for providing a high level of service and expertise across a range of processes and tasks pertaining to operational matters within onshore vocational and higher education and student financial administration. In this role, you will be responsible for the development of a range of process improvements, documentation and training to cover new and existing processes, procedures and practices for these areas. In addition, you will participate in joint coordination of day to day activities to ensure a high standard is delivered providing leadership and supervision of staff within the Student Records team as and when required.

Skills & Experience Required

As the successful candidate you will demonstrate experience and expertise in the provision of quality student administration advice and services, including a sound knowledge of relevant policies, procedures and performance agreements. You will also have highly developed interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills, including ability to tailor communication styles to diverse audiences. Proven initiative and problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently to quickly extract the priority issues and take action without specific direction where appropriate and ability to advise management of potential for policy improvement will be imperative to your success in this role.

Note: Appointment to this position is subject to passing a Working with Children check.
