POSITION

Conceptum Logistics Australia is currently seeking to appoint a “Business Development Manager / Executive” a role focused on sales in our Melbourne Head Office located in Southbank, Melbourne.

The position requires the successful candidate to join an established enthusiastic team, reporting directly to the General Manager, as Conceptum Logistics further strengthens its position in the market.

Sales is at the heart of the role, with various sales activities being the primary responsibility. Conceptum Logistics operates across a range of markets with strong product offerings – be it breakbulk, oversize, heavy lift, vessel chartering and general freight both sea and air.  You will be supported in an organisation that is focused on up-skilling and providing career growth and opportunities to its employees.   

You will be responsible and accountable for driving commercial targets set with your Manager to deliver growth to the Organization.  The successful candidate will be involved in a range of sales activities, maintaining relationships with existing clients and negotiating rates.  Your customers will have the full operational support from an established Operations team, which is led by a dedicated Operations Manager (who reports to the General Manager). 

CANDIDATE

The position is available to the right candidate, be it someone who is established in the industry with a long track record, or an individual who is looking to take the next step with a minimum 5 years-experience in the freight forwarding / shipping industry.

You will have:

  • Previous success in a Sales environment (external or internal) & a record of achieving high performance outcomes.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills, be resilient and motivated, with a high focus on customer service & satisfaction.
  • An ability to build relationships with key contacts across customers, internal company divisions and suppliers.
  • Energy and enthusiasm with a drive for identifying and acquiring new customers to ensure performance targets are exceeded.
  • A strong work ethic and enjoyment from working in a wider team environment with other staff in your Branch and across the company, driving towards common goals.
  • An ambitious outlook with the desire to 'think outside the box` to achieve exceptional results.
  • A deep understanding of the Project market in Australia.

The salary on offer is dependent upon prior experience and negotiable for the right candidate.  In addition to salary, the position also includes direct performance incentives on new business obtained in the role after a qualifying period.
