*Please note this role is for day shift but will initially require some time on our afternoon shift to access on the job training resources.*
About the role
The Leading Hand - Manufacturing, under the direction of the Manufacturing Team Leader, is accountable within their Department for ensuring OH&S, Food Safety, Environmental Awareness, Production Demands, Associate Engagement & Continuous Improvement KPI's requirements are met..
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist the Team Leader to manage the team in ways such as (but not limited to) managing breaks, allocating people to roles, providing insights and recommendations on team performance.
- Complying with quality, housekeeping, safety and cleaning procedures.
- Works in a safe manner consistent with company safety policy & processes, and is accountable for Department Associates to do the same. Ensure Department Safety procedures/requirements are met. These include Start Up Checks, LOTO, Accident investigations and Department Safety Toolbox attendance.
- Ensure Department maintains GMP's, HACCP Standards and that Quality procedures/ requirements are met.
- Ensure Department associates skills are developed and that key roles have adequately trained back-ups.
- Ensure department Time and Attendance records are correct and updated on a daily basis and approved for payment.
- Support Department associate personal leave schedules ensuring production demands can be met.
- Performance Management, reward and recognise positive behaviour and coaching to improve opportunities areas.
- Prepare reports for Supply Chain related business meetings as required and follow through on required follow up tasks.
To be successful in this role, you would need to be able to demonstrate the following
- +5 years in Food Manufacturing
- Sheeting/Mixing experience (highly desirable)
- Environment, Health and Safety focus – Conducts self in a health and safety conscious manner at all times, complying with company policy. Acts with consistency with the company's focus on minimising our impact on the environment.
