We are on the hunt for an experienced Production Leader / Shift Manager to join our client, a well-known global leader in food products manufacturing and distribution, located in the South-Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne.
In this position, you will primarily be responsible for planning, coordination and control of the manufacturing processes, as well as leading a large production team. This will include the management of labour and materials to ensure efficient production, in line with the correct standards and on time. Other responsibilities include:
- Managing all aspects of production, including planning, reporting, staffing/labour and quality control
- Controlling cost budgets for the unit and driving continuous improvement initiatives
- Management of production staff, including skills gap identification and training
- Taking ownership of the Planned Maintenance system
- Effective collaboration with other business units to ensure business goals are achieved
- Ensuring compliance with company policies, quality and safety standards
To be successful in this role you will be expected to have:
- Demonstrable experience in a Leadership position within a large Food or FMCG environment
- Strong leadership skills, as well as people and performance management experience
- Knowledge and experience in managing HACCP, GMP, ISO9001 and 14001 standards will be looked upon favourably
- Experience in driving and managing Lean/Six Sigma based process improvement or continuous improvement
- A strong commitment to WHS
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and personal presentation
