About the business
An exciting opportunity has risen at our Pearcedale farm for an experienced Shift Supervisor to join one of Australia's leading organic farmers and processors of fresh produce. Reporting to Production Manager, you will be responsible for supervising and leading the employees incl. casual staff, team leaders and contractors in a production environment.
About the role
The role will include but will not limited to the following responsibilities:
- Effectively oversee and provide support in the daily operations of production requirements and schedules
- Assisting the Production Manager to monitor performance against KPI's, review processes and procedures and drive continuous improvement across the team
- Lead the staff direction and management to achieve agreed targets, within set budgets and KPI's.
- Provide support, coaching and advice to the team and identify training needs and product safety, quality procedures
- Maintain and establish a high degree of quality awareness and safety amongst the team.
This position is part of a team who are responsible for the supervision and direction of a culturally diverse workforce in relation to the receiving, storage, processing and despatch of a range of vegetable products, in a hygienic and safe manner within daily established time frames.
Skills and experience
Key Requirements:
- Ability to take initiative and lead the way
- Proven and demonstrated experience in supervising the fast paced and busy production lines
- The ability to adapt and manage a changing environment
- A strong focus for the continuous improvement Exceptional planning, organisational and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of people at all levels of staff and management.
- Commitment to product safety and quality outcomes
- Commitment to efficiency and productivity management
Experience in a food manufacturing environment, ideally vegetable packing or processing, would be highly regarded.
You will be required to work a 10-day fortnight with a rotating roster of Monday to Friday & Tuesday to Saturday.
