THE COMPANY

Our range includes Structural and Decorative Remanufactured Plantation Pine products for internal and external building projects and applications.

THE ROLE

We currently have an exciting permanent and full time position for an experienced Forklift Operator to join our NSW Team.

This role is directly responsible for the safe loading and unloading of vehicles whilst keeping damage to a minimum.  A strong focus must be placed on customer service, time management and meeting order deadlines with the ability to work autonomously.

Key competencies and duties responsible for are:

• Maintaining and implementing workplace health and safety procedures to make sure that the work site is safe for all workers, visitors and customers;
• Managing all incoming and outgoing stock, making sure that all stock is accurately and efficiently counted, documented, loaded/unloaded and stored correctly;
• Follow stock procedures as directed by the warehouse supervisor and assist with regular stock counts when required;
• Maintaining the warehouse so that all areas are kept clean and tidy from scrap and hazardous materials.  Ensure that appropriate products are recycled or disposed of correctly, along with reporting any safety hazard concerns;
• Maintaining effective implementation of chain of custody process;
• Assist in the re-loading of racks when required;
• Complete forklift pre-starts on a daily basis;
• The management of inventory – receiving, maintaining and rotation of stock;
• Make sure all packs of timber are stacked at a safe height to avoid damage, accident or injury;
• Follow implementation of the packing procedure, ensuring that enough packaging material is being used when loading orders to avoid 'in transit' damage;
• Ensure gas bottle supplies are kept adequate at all times;
• Assist in the cleanliness of the toilets, kitchen and outside eating area;
• Care for our product ensuring that all stock is handled correctly at all times to minimise damage;
• Ensure returns are accurately accounted for and are re-packaged or put back through the racks for sale;
• Liaise politely with truck drivers, customers and office staff offering the best possible service at all times;
• Clearly be able to read and understand customer orders to ensure orders are filled correctly;
• Have legible/reasonable hand writing to complete order quantities on paperwork; and
• Undertake additional duties as and when required.

 ABOUT YOU

• Minimum 5+ years forklift operating experience;
• Must possess previous warehouse experience;
• Prior experience in the timber industry will be highly regarded, although not essential;
• Proficient written & verbal communication skills;
• Excellent time management;
• Ability to make sound decisions;
• Physically capable of undertaking hands on heavy lifting (up to 30kg); and
• Ability to work autonomously.
