We are now seeking an experienced Customs Compiler / Classifier to join our team in Sydney.
The Customs Compiler/Classifier has the responsibility for the efficient and correct preparation of Customs entries from job registration, document auditing, valuation, classification, preference, exception reporting and managing any redline, DAFF or other holds as relevant; This role is all encompassing in bringing a customs entry to the point of lodgement and then managing the realities of the DAFF procedures and processes to enable a CLEAR status in the most timely and compliant manner for our client.
Key Activities / Accountabilities
- Preparing entries for Customs & DAFF Clearance
- Preparation of Customs entries, through classification, Evaluation and Compiling.
- Initiate and action client servicing
- Assist Brokers, where necessary, with TA applications
- Attendance to queries or impediments raised by the Australian Customs Service and/or DAFF.
- Attending to client enquiries relating to tariff classification of goods, rates of duty, tariff concession orders, valuation and origin requirements of the Customs Act
- Keep up-to-date with current customs industry changes and trends (Broker update emails, Gazettes etc)
- Providing an exceptional standard of Customs Service to our customers.
- Providing excellent communication to customs brokers, department manager and the client
To qualify for this role you must have the following skills and experience :
- Minimum 3 Years experience in a similar role
- AQIS Accreditation
- Import awareness & Compliance agreements
