We are PFD Food Services, Australia's largest privately owned food service company (www.pfdfoods.com.au). We have a broad range of customers such as local restaurants, cafes, hospitals, schools, pubs and clubs!

The Role

Coordinate maintenance activities across the distribution centre and associated locations, ensuring the branch is compliant with legislative and OH&S requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee a repairs and preventative maintenance schedule/program across plant and equipment in a temperature controlled food storage environment;
  • Support the site management team by facilitating capital works/major projects;
  • Ensure standard contract management processes are implemented and complied with;
  • Assist with the implementation of initiatives to improve site safety, including risk assessments;
  • Assist in the timely reporting of all incidents, near misses, hazards and lost time injuries within required timeframes;
  • Co-ordinate work cover claims documentation and certificates are followed up and provided to the National OH&S team by the due date;
  • Ensure corrective actions and investigations are assigned and completed by the due date;
  • Coordinate safety audits and assist in the implementation of corrective actions where necessary;
  • Oversee OH&S record keeping.

Key Competencies, Skills and Qualifications

  • General knowledge across facilities, maintenance and trades (refrigeration would be advantageous);
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal and staff supervisory skills;
  • Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills;
  • Ability to ensure staff understand and operate to the required Standard Operating Procedures (SOP);
  • Strong knowledge of HACCP, OH&S regulations and cold storage principles;
  • Strong computer literacy and experience in using hazard and incident reporting systems;
  • Flexible and adaptable attitude with the ability to work under pressure while maintaining a professional disposition;
  • Self motivated with the ability to work autonomously;
  • Qualification in a relevant trade is advantageous;
  • Must be available on call after hours.
