Your new company
A tier one rail manufacturer is seeking a procurement professional experienced in heavy manufacturing, industrial or technical procurement to join their team to manage a range of procurement and contract management activities.
Your new role
As the Procurement Engineer you will be responsible for sourcing a range of raw materials, goods and components relating to the manufacturing of rolling stock and managing a broad range of supplier contracts to minimize risk and maximize commercial opportunities. Key duties include:
- Managing all elements of the end to end procurement and contract management process
- Liaising with supplier and technical teams to evaluate submissions
- Expediting orders and managing a material to ensure no delays halt production
What you'll need to succeed
You will have strong experience in a heavy, technical manufacturing environment where you have procured a range of goods and materials and also have experience in managing contracts and suppliers. Key skills include:
- Knowledge of import/export procurement and logistics
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbals
- A qualification in an engineering disciple is desired
- Local experience in rolling stock, heavy manufacturing or oil & gas will be highly regarded
What you'll get in return
As the successful candidate you will be offered a salary of between $80,000 - $100,000 plus superannuation, commensurate with experience, and you will be working on one of the largest rail projects in Australia which will be a great feather in your cap.
