About the role
Reporting to the National Product Manager and as part of a dynamic team you will own, deliver and define category and retail strategies for the portfolio under your custodianship.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and manage a Core Range and conduct regular Range Reviews
- Develop and maintain a Category Growth Plan for each assigned category
- Select products and pricing strategies for all advertising and promotional events
- Manage supplier relations and monitor all Supplier agreements, the Supplier Rebates according to the budgets and benchmarks set down
Key skills required:
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field or demonstrated equivalent experience, knowledge and skills in Category or Product Management
- A strong understanding of trade practices legislation and other laws and standards
- Strong negotiation skills
- Sound analytical ability and data skills
- Astute decision-making ability
- Strategic and tactical business improvement
- Sound marketing and merchandising abilities
The successful candidate will ideally come from a background featuring category development and retail planning combined with brand or trade marketing experience
