We now have an exciting opportunity for a strategic and performance minded Distribution Centre & Logistics Manager to join our fast-paced business.

In this business critical position, you will be responsible for overseeing all Distribution Centre activities including the efficient receipt, storage, picking, packing and dispatch of a wide range of goods across both the Fashion and Fragrance & Beauty Divisions. In addition, the Logistics Manager is responsible for work health and safety, distribution centre security, facility maintenance and information technology systems management.

Reporting to the General Manager Supply Chain, Operations and Distribution ANZ, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Team leadership and development, KPI setting and resource planning, maximizing efficiency, ensuring labour is mapped to delivery / receiving schedules and service level agreements.
  • Quality Control and adherence to set delivery windows.
  • Continually reviewing the setup, layout and use of space within the Distribution Centre so as to make recommendations for improvements
  • Analyse, design and implement inventory management procedures.
  • Work with both the Marketing and Sales departments to improve efficiency in receipting and dispatching of inventory
  • Negotiation of rates with suppliers of goods and services,
  • Proactively plan future capacity requirements.
  • Maintain housekeeping and site maintenance of Distribution Centre and surrounding areas.
  • Implement cost-reduction and continuous improvement principles in all aspects of Distribution Centre transactions and activities.
  • Management of all equipment and systems (including system support for employees) including, but not limited to Manhattan, RF Scanners, Conveyor etc.
  • Ensure all planned maintenance of plant and equipment is carried out in a timely manner and oversee any scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance and / or repair.
  • Continuous analysis of service and plant / equipment requirements
  • Work with other members of the Supply Chain & Distribution Department to develop Standard Operating Procedures for all Distribution Centre activities.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all Head Office enquiries and action any directives from Head Office.
  • Work with the Human Resources to maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene, and security in the work environment.
  • Act as the Deputy Chief Warden, coordinating all evacuation and emergency response procedures in the absence of the Chief Fire Warden.

We also ask that you are able demonstrate the following skills and attributes:

  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in Logistics / Warehousing with at least three years at management level.
  • Tertiary studies in Supply Chain Management, Warehousing and Logistics or relevant studies in a related discipline.
  • Superior leadership, motivational and influencing capabilities.
  • The ability to deliver results using advanced technologies including Warehouse Management Systems and processes that support world best practice.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to gather, interpret and share information effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to build strong relationships with a variety of stakeholders,
  • High level of computer literacy including a professional understanding of Excel.
  • The ability to prioritise and work within tight deadlines and juggle competing priorities.
  • Impeccable personal presentation and grooming standards in line with Chanel guidelines.
  • An appreciation of the luxury fashion and beauty industry and the willingness to live the values of Chanel
