On behalf of this family owned business who specialises in the supply of quality plastic bottles to the food, dairy and beverages industries, an excellent opportunity now exists for an ambitious recent engineering graduate who views to progress to a management role ultimately within their career lifespan.

Located in Campbellfield, this company manufactures a high quality product and offers a reliable and competitive alternative to the market. As the new Process & Quality Engineer, you will need to bring to the role a challenging way of thinking, constantly pushing for change and improvement in regards to existing processes.

Reporting directly to the Quality and Systems Manager, the successful candidates initial focus will be assisting with investigations and implementing actions out of those investigations, assisting with or possibly leading the establishment of a training program and supporting/running lean waste reduction projects. Other key accountabilities the successful candidate in this position will be held accountable for include (but not limited to) :

  • Leading cross-functional continuous improvement teams focusing on safety, quality, on time delivery, and cost/productivity improvements.
  • Researching solutions to complex technical problems and recommend cost effective resolution approaches.
  • Managing a portfolio of lean projects directed at improving quality, eliminating waste and provide greater value.
  • Writing standard operating procedures, control plans, troubleshooting guides and training materials as necessary to support project implementation.
  • Drafting proposals for improvement projects with clearly defined benefits, scope, resource requirements and project plans with milestones and timeline.

To therefore be considered for this opportunity, we are seeking to hear from applicants who possess :

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, engineering and management or related field.
  • Experience in a manufacturing engineer or continuous improvement role or equivalent experience/education.
  • Understanding of LEAN principles is required.
  • Ability to positively interact and work collaboratively with a diverse group of people at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated commitment to own personal professional development and learning.
  • Experience in food plastic packaging desirable but not essential.

As a full-time role, an appropriate salary package will be on offer to attract and retain the successful applicant. Based in the northern suburbs, access to your own transport for the daily commute to the site, will be highly beneficial.
