With a team dedicated to achieving the organisation's goals through commitment, consistency and valuing individual contribution, there is an exciting opportunity in a dynamic division at our Sydney Depot, located in Smithfield.
The PM Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the timely and efficient unloading & loading of linehaul trailers and containers, as well as maintaining a high level of service to internal and external customers. This is a permanent full-time position, working the afternoon shift until close Monday to Friday.
This role will encompass a variety of tasks, including but not limited to the following:
- Work closely with the Depot and Operations Managers to provide support on a daily and weekly basis, highlighting any issues with revenue, loads, costs and site;
- Coordinate Administration & planning (no rail booking cancellation fee’s, timely DMR entry, SPA’s raised for every load);
- Manage the application and efficiency of scanning activity to maintain a minimum standard of 98% accuracy;
- Work closely with the PUD Fleet to ensure drivers are complying with company procedures;
- Ensure all tranship freight is clearly marked, placed in the appropriate area and paperwork received. This includes intrastate and on-forwarding freight;
- Coordinate between Freight and Warehousing & Distribution to ensure procedures and customers requirements are met (including labour, forklift usage and fleet);
- Deliver induction and training to new and current staff;
- Reduce overtime costs by better utilisation of full time and casual staff against budget;
- Build close relationships with service providers and contractors.
- Record all damages, poor loading procedures and OHS incidents as per procedure.
To be successful in this position, you will have:
- Proven successful supervisory experience in the Transport Industry;
- Extensive technical knowledge and experience in the freight industry, ideally in linehaul contractor management and the loading of general linehaul freight;
- A Forklift Licence (class LF) and/ or HC/MC Licence would be an advantage, but not essential;

Physical fitness to handle repetitive lifting (manual handling) of freight/curtains up to 20kgs;

Ability to effectively work with and deal with people internally and externally;

Excellent customer relationship attributes and a strong customer service focus;

A high level of attention to detail and accuracy of information;

Exceptional time management skills with the ability to work under strict time constraints;

Have a methodical approach, ability to multi-task and excellent attention to detail; and

Strong understanding of HSE practices and procedures and the ability to provide strong leadership in HSE.
