We are a private innovative business located on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia.  We design, manufacture and fabricate a range of shade shed products on site.  We are looking for focused and driven individuals to join our team.   

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the purpose of this role is to develop methods, manage and administer the company's growth plan, working collaboratively with all staff particularly the Director, Sales Manager, National & International Partnership Managers and Finance Manager. It is the operation manager's role to ensure the organisation is operating efficiently as possible that meets the expectations and needs of departmental managers, staff and clients.

The Operations Manager is responsible for a range of activities, both externally and internally focused, including coordination and supervision, finance and administration, best practices, human resources, production and depot facilities, communication, strategic input, expansion and stock management (import & export). Delivery of many of these activities is through collaboration and coordination with the management team, staff, contractors, and international partners with a hands on approach.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver the company's Operational Plan and budget, to the desired quality of outcomes, on time as well as the associated reporting and monitoring requirements
  • Liaison with top management, assisting in the development of strategic plans for operational activity
  • Management and guidance of nationally based staff and contractors
  • Collaborate with key personnel to expand customer base
  • Develop and maintain business pricing strategies
  • Review financial statements and data, using this information to improve profitability
  • Prepare and control operational budgets
  • Research, develop and implement an efficient stock control system that will monitor production, import, export and record the withdrawal of components from stock
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of our diverse range of products and services
  • Managing personnel across the business locations nationally and globally
  • Collaborate with key personnel to develop, implement and maintain machinery and equipment maintenance schedules
  • Coordinate and monitor the work of various departments involved in production, warehousing, pricing and distribution of goods
  • Formulate and implement departmental and organisational policies and procedures to maximise output
  • Collaborate with key personnel to manage the training and retention of staff
  • Collaborate with key personnel to organise recruitment and placement of hired staff

The successful candidate will have:

  • Solid management experience, manufacturing industry highly advantageous
  • Experience working with a company during an expansive growth phase
  • Strong OHS&E and QA knowledge
  • Business administration and strong time management skills
  • Ability to work well with all levels of personnel and manage a team
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Knowledge and experience in organisational effectiveness and operations management
  • Have strong business acumen and commercial awareness
  • Experience managing multiple business locations nationally and globally
  • Excellent attention to detail, planning and analysis ability
  • A personal drive to deliver exceptional results
  • Knowledge and exposure to; business and management principles, financial and accounting principles, human resource principles and project management principles
  • Competencies with problem solving, decision-making, persuasiveness, delegation, team work, conflict management and stress tolerance
