About the role
Prestons Operations is seeking an energetic, motivated and results driven Production Supervisor to lead the night shift operation, working an 8-hour shift x 5 days.
Applying a 'hands on' approach, you will be a key member of the Production team exhibiting strong leadership capabilities in managing the development of production personnel in achieving compliance and output goals.
Reporting to the Head of Operations, your key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provide leadership, advice, coaching & support to staff
- Conduct regular staff performance reviews
- Adherence to production plan and delegation of tasks required for batch documentation
- Ensure efficient performance and authorise overtime in accordance with production needs
- Maintain adherence to quality requirements, GMP, regulatory compliance and general housekeeping
- Trouble shoot with material and methods during manufacture
- Effective cross functional communications between Production, Technical and Engineering teams
- Participate in the planning and process flow of products through manufacturing
- Monitor variables affecting production yields and initiate corrective action
- Conducting regular skills assessment of all production personnel
- Develop training plans for production personnel
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Conduct shift handovers
- Manage safety and compliance to WHS standards.
Essential Criteria
- A proven factory production or manufacturing background with minimum of 5 years’ experience in Pharmaceutical (preferred)
- Working knowledge and ability to interpret the Australian Code of GMP
- The ability to lead and improve production teams, implementing continuous improvement
- Time management, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Production and workflow planning
- Positive and energetic personality
- Strong conflict resolution skills
- High level of attention to detail, initiative and strong work ethic
- Proven ability to supervise a streamlined production facility
- Ability to work with all levels of the organisation from shop floor to senior management
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal
- Commitment to Continuous Improvement
- Good mechanical aptitude and or trouble shooting ability (desirable)
- Basic working level with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, MRP and ERP systems (SAP or JDE)
- Own reliable transport.
