Detail information about job Quality Assurance Manager - Food Manufacturing. Terms and conditions vacancy
THE CLIENT
Based in Melbourne's Eastern Suburbs, our client is a successful manufacturing business that has been growing rapidly for over a decade and, through a substantial investment in its plant and equipment, has resulted in a multi-million dollar company. Its products are ingredients supplied to food manufacturing companies that include several well-recognised FMCG brands. Quality is viewed as a valuable business activity, not merely a compliance activity.
THE ROLE
Due to an internal movement, the opportunity is to lead a small Quality Assurance Team in the compliance and consistency of low-risk products to their customers.
This will be done by ensuring routine testing and recording of results; auditing systems and processes; training QA and manufacturing staff, and troubleshooting any non-compliance results and/or corrective actions.
This role would suit someone who has had experience in a Quality Assurance or Quality Control role in Food Manufacturing environment beyond their tertiary education, including direct people management. Duties will vary from leading Food Safety and Quality Management programs including internal and external Auditing, in-line process control measurements through to Vendor Assurance, Product Labelling and Sensory & Shelf-life Evaluation activities.
SELECTION CRITERIA
You will have a degree in Food Science & Technology or a related degree, and have previous experience in Quality roles within a Food Manufacturing environment.
In addition, you will have:
- Strong understanding and hands-on experience working with Food Quality Management Systems, including HACCP & Food Safety
- Working knowledge of BRC &/or SQF Systems is imperative
- Experience in Quality related supervisory roles with demonstrated effectiveness in team engagement and process improvement
- The ability to work professionally and build relationships with external customers, vendors, and auditors
- Well established analytical and problem solving skills ensuring appropriate actions are taken in a timely manner. You will be decisive with a sense of urgency in driving issues to closure
- Good work ethic, strong influencing skills and the ability to balance a range of activities
-
High level of proficiency in Word and Excel, and evidence of the ability to document results accurately and interpret findings
-
Well developed communication skills as some training of factory staff in Quality, Hygiene and OH&S will be a requirement for this role
-
Familiarity with FSANZ
-
Strong eye for detail is essential, including proofreading of product labels
