Yusen Logistics is a world-leading total supply chain and logistics solutions provider with 14 locations across Australia and New Zealand.
We are recruiting for a Customs Coordinator to join our team based in Moorebank. The successful applicant will be responsible for coordination between Freight Forwarding operations teams in Australia and with Yusen Logistics overseas locations from time to time. This role will work closely with Customs Brokers and operations teams on customs clearance functions, and associated documentation and reporting, while delivering a high level of customer service and efficiency.
Key responsibilities include:
- Maintain the day to day customs clearance functions and processes in line with expectations, standards and KPIs
- Ensure compliance with ABF, AQIS and other government agencies
- Participation in regular internal compliance audits and associated reporting
- Reconciliation of job management reports and month-end processes
- Prepare customs documentation and ensure shipments meet all applicable laws
- Provide support with client visits/service calls to promote new programs/offerings
- Coordinate transportation and storage of imported goods
- Keep up to date with current Customs and AQIS industry changes and trends
- Prepare operational and accounting performance data and reporting
The successful candidate will possess:
- Tertiary qualifications in Freight Forwarding or Logistics (preferred); or a commensurate level of education, training and commercial experience
- Min. 3 years’ relevant commercial experience
- EDI/Cargowise & ICS experience (essential)
- Working knowledge of customs tariffs, import, export and taxation regulations
- Strong communication skills (verbal & written) and attention to detail
- Ability to maintain a high standard of work and composure under pressure
- Intermediate level MS Office skills (Word, Excel and Outlook)
