The opportunity
We know that having the right work environment is key to the culture we want to create. Our real estate and property strategy is critical to our People & Culture plans. We have active and engaged executive sponsorship who understand the importance of reinvigorating our culture through our workplaces. As such, we require a Senior Change Manager (SCM) to develop and lead the change management plans for our property and real estate strategy at both strategic and operational level. QBE has over 3,000 employees in nine locations therefore intrastate and interstate travel will be required. This program is likely to have a 2 - 3 year implementation plan.
This role will work closely with the program team, HR and our senior leaders to support all change associated with our workplace strategy. You will be able to look holistically at the change impacts from an organisational design, culture, technology and relocation perspective. This role will manage the end to end change plan.
Significant liaison will be required with our property consultants. You will assist in the design of the most effective ways of working and lead a stakeholder and communications plan to position the changes for future success.
This role would suit a seasoned practitioner who has worked on complex changes and has strong strategic change, change coaching, facilitation and communication skills. You will have the autonomy to design the right change interventions, coach the leadership team and be hands on throughout this program of work.
About you
As the successful candidate, you bring energy, ideas and experience to help make traction with engaging people in our workplace strategy. Prior experience in property/ workplace change and/or activity-based working (ABW) will be looked upon favourably although not essential. It is more important that you can bring creativity, energy and an interest in affecting cultural change.
You will have:
- significant experience in delivering successful strategic change;
- significant experience in advising, supporting and coaching senior sponsors and stakeholders;
- experience in and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies, tools and implementation strategies;
- success in partnering with leaders and stakeholders to complete and implement sponsor roadmaps, manage resistance, drive engagement, coach and prepare training plans and schedules;
- experience in leading change impact assessments, stakeholder engagement and training plans;
- the ability to get up to speed quickly and use your love of learning and curiosity to understand business needs and provide solutions effectively and efficiently;
- Desirable: Property change experience, activity-based working (ABW) and experience with agile change techniques.

- Managing the champion network
- Change readiness assessments
- Business as usual support and embedding plans
The key responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:
- Working closely with the heads of the relevant business units to manage the changes required in this program of work
- Reviewing and implementing the change impact assessment, any transition requirements and documenting results
- Working with the change management team and stream leads to prepare impacted groups for change
- Assisting with identifying stakeholders and determining their requirements and interventions to support progress of change activities
- Developing key stakeholder understanding and acceptance of changes
- Completing all required tools and templates to manage the change effectively.
