About the position:
Umwelt is seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Planner to support the growth of their Queensland team. This role will work closely with the National Renewables Sector Lead to grow our portfolio of projects across Queensland as well as supporting and managing development approvals across a range of industries including Defence, Ports and Transport sectors.
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate strong knowledge of Queensland planning and environmental legislation as well as being able to show experience in the successful management and delivery of development approvals.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparation and coordination of high quality development applications for both small and large infrastructure projects
- Preparation of high quality proposals to meet the aspirations of our clients
- Engage with our clients to ensure effective and efficient delivery of their projects
- Manage internal and external resources to achieve successful outcomes on our client's projects
- Keep up to date on Queensland's evolving planning and environmental legislation, particularly with respect to renewables
Ideally you will have:
- Tertiary degree in town planning, environmental planning or equivalent
- At least 5 years consultancy experience preparing and coordinating development applications across a range of industry sectors in Queensland
- Experience of Queensland planning legislation and environmental approvals processes in the renewables sector, is highly desirable
- Experience managing projects, managing subcontractors, quality assurance and engaging with clients
