Our Water Branch is currently seeking a Project Officer to join their Intergovernmental and Strategic Stakeholder Relations team.

As a Project Officer you will provide project support to multiple internal and inter-jurisdictional committees. Your day to day duties will include coordination of executive and ministerial correspondence, preparing project plans, collating information for reporting, and maintaining document tracking processes to ensure effective records management.

About You
To be successful in this role you will have demonstrated experience in providing project support services with the ability to use discretion and good judgment to deal with complex and sensitive issues. You will have strong communication skills and be capable of managing your own workload to balance competing demands.

As this role acts an initial contact between multiple committees and stakeholders, it is essential that you will have exceptional stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships throughout the Department and with cluster and government entities. A broad understanding of water management issues, including the Murray-Darling Basin Plan will be highly regarded.

About Us
This is an exciting time to join the NSW Department of Industry. Our Water Branch exists to efficiently manage water in NSW with the objective to create a contemporary government water agency focused on planning and policy, regulation, information and insights, and programs and performance. This role is within the Intergovernmental and Strategic Stakeholder Relations team. Among other functions, the team develops intergovernmental policy and leads negotiations with other jurisdictions in relation to water management, including the Murray Darling Basin Plan.
