The client
Our client is a medium sized, ASX listed gold mining company with various projects at differing stages. Due to continued, exciting growth, they are currently looking to employ a professional Environmental Manager to join their team.
The Role
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer and based at the corporate head office, the Environmental Manager will be responsible for managing the ongoing development, implementation and continual improvement of environmental management systems and standards. In addition to providing leadership, strategy and direction in all matters relating to environmental management and activities on site, you will also collaboratively develop the annual environmental business plan and mine closure plans, manage the environmental approvals process for new and expansion projects and manage internal and external environmental audits.
Requirements
In order to be considered for this position you will have a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering or Management and will have substantial experience in environmental management within the mining industry. You will have progressed into a management level position and will ideally have knowledge of Western Australia’s approval process. In addition to good numerical, analytical and communication skills, you will be a strategic thinker with excellent leadership capabilities and a sound understanding of mining principles.
