Role Details;

Gold Fields Australia is currently seeking a Coordinator: Mechanical (Projects) to join the Engineering Team at St Ives Gold Mine.

 

As the Coordinator: Mechanical (Projects), you will be responsible for the effective coordination and supervision of mechanical maintenance related projects on site as well as long term planning to enable achievement of budgeted production targets, meeting all quality standards including cost, safety and environment.  You will be required to liaise with various internal and external parties to facilitate the various projects through to quality outcomes and working with the reliability group for continuous improvement initiatives.

 

This role is offered on a 5 days on 2 days off roster, and would require the incumbent to be residential in Kalgoorlie or Kambalda. For successful candidates relocating from interstate or other locations, Gold Fields provide a generous relocation package.

Key Responsibilities;

  • Always act in a manner that seeks to enhance the safety culture and performance of GFA and ensures that the Vital Behaviours are adhered to at all times
  • Be an active team member - Ensure company targets are met by all employees by managing the day to day activities of the maintenance team (inclusive of contractors) in a cost effective and efficient manner
  • Ensuring awareness of performance targets and facilitate access to the tools necessary to achieve them
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits specifically checking compliance of established standards and procedures in relation to safety & production issues
  • Manage the various projects from conception, costing, planning, execution, and close out
  • Investigation and implementation of reliability analysis and initiatives
  • Assist in the development, implementation and monitoring of new maintenance procedures, processes and technology to ensure the safe and efficient operation of assets
  • Ensure minimal disruption to production through the ready access to critical parts, equipment and service providers by developing and maintaining good working relationships with external companies and having contingency plans in place to source these at short notice when required


Key Factors to Your Success Include;

  • Recognised Trade qualification
  • Certificate IV Frontline Management (Desirable)
  • Graduate qualification in business or similar (Desirable)
  • Capital Project/Cost Management training (Desirable)
  • SAP planning experience (Desirable)
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a project / leadership position within a mining environment
  • C’ Class Drivers Licence
