GCG Health, Safety & Hygiene is a leading provider of Occupational Health, Safety & Hygiene consulting services committed to helping clients keep their people safe. GCG operates from offices in Perth, Brisbane, Townsville and Singleton, servicing a wide variety of industries throughout Australia.
GCG have an exciting opportunity for a great part time Laboratory Technician to join the team to be based in our Perth office.
This new role is part of our WA Operations Team and is necessitated by strong business growth. The responsibility of this position is to provide technical laboratory services to the consulting arm of the organisation.
This position is ideal for those who wish to enhance their skills in the field of laboratory based occupational hygiene, whilst working within a team of experienced professionals.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting dust and fibre analysis, adhering to GCG’s Quality Control programme.
- Performing analysis of samples e.g. gravimetric and asbestos fibre counting internally or in collaboration with other laboratories.
- Perform equipment care, maintenance and calibration.
- Maintaining an accurate database of documentation.
- Troubleshooting and developing innovative solutions to problems.
- Assisting Occupational Hygiene Consultants with projects.
- Internal and statutory required report generation.
Minimum candidate requirements:
- Tertiary qualifications in a science related discipline
- Experience in laboratory related work
