About the opportunity:

We’ve got a unique full time Area Manager career opportunity in our high performing Tasmanian team. This is no ordinary role and as such we’re looking for people who truly enjoy no 2 days being the same! The role will see you managing our Service function, defending and growing the Installation business as well as overall site operations management.

Your day to day accountabilities will include:

Service Management

  • Daily work management including: scheduling, organizing and controlling the day to day activities of 4 service technicians to ensure the job is completed safely, timely, efficiently and effectively;
  • Interfacing between the customer: you will act as the face of the GVR to the customer, ensuring and maintaining that SLA’s in service agreements are met;
  • Looking at performance data to address performance issues and implementing solutions to increase productivity;
  • Reporting on metrics and KPI’s;
  • Coaching, mentoring and helping to develop the career’s and performance of the service technicians.

Site Operation Management

  • Promoting Gilbarco’s safety culture and following our core belief of getting people home safely;
  • Conducting on site (field) safety audits and pro-actively addressing hazards;
  • Plan, co-ordinate and control the day-to-day activities of site (receiving, despatch, inventory, control of stock & ordering parts) ensuring excellent site operation;
  • Successfully improving process and streamlining activities through continuous improvement and best practice process improvement;
  • Increase and maintain the profitability of the Business Unit by controlling day to day operating costs and maximising revenue; through development of improved efficiencies.

Installation Management

  • Increasing our current Installation footprint & work by owning and evolving existing customer relationships;
  • Leading new Installation projects (in Tasmania) with new and potential customers (from a sales and business development perspective);
  • Influencing & collaborating with all levels of internal stakeholders as part of the installation sales process (as required);
  • Managing the customer expectations, disruptions, conflicts and owning the customer journey.

What you’ll need:

  • Hands on people leadership experience;
  • Similar experience in a multi- faceted operational and customer facing role;
  • Superior stakeholder management, conflict resolution and influencing ability;
  • Project management work style and exposure;
  • Exposure to construction industry (ideal)
  • Demonstrated success in strategic and executive level business partnering;
