Pilbara Minerals is an emerging strategic metals producer developing the 100% owned Pilgangoora - Lithium Project 120 Km south of Port Hedland in WA's Pilbara. We are currently executing Stage 1 (2Mtpa) of the project and on track for first production in Q2 2018. In addition, we are progressing the Feasibility Studies for the Stage 2 (5Mtpa) Pilgangoora Expansion Project.
THE OPPORTUNITY:
Reporting to the Mine Manager, the Mine Surveyor is accountable for timely surveying control to assist in the optimum mining of the ore body. You will work as part of a team of 4 surveyors to ensure a continuous supply of ore by conducting regular survey and maintaining accurate, up to date mine plans to support production activity as required by the contractual obligations set out in the Mining Contract. We are taking an innovative approach to survey and will shortly introduce a Matrice 200 for survey and a DJI Phantom 4 Pro V2.0 for visual work, accompanied by Pix4Dmapper software. This is a great opportunity for you as a surveyor to learn the skills and take advantage of the training to use these drones and systems!
In addition, you will assist in the development of documentation and processes during the development stage of the mine. This is a permanent full-time position which operates on a FIFO 9/5 roster from Perth.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- surveying of the open pit mine including waste dumps, haul roads and ROM stockpiles.
- measuring volume of material mined and associated stockpiling of ore and waste materials each month to coincide with the mining contractor’s payment period and as required by the Manager Mining
- generation of the daily dig, drill and blast plan and the set out of the spatial data points for production personnel
- assist the Senior Mine Geologist and Senior Mining Engineer with the monthly ore reserve reconciliation and the daily, weekly and monthly mine production reporting
- maintain accurate plans as the Authorised Mine Surveyor for the mine site and associated infrastructure.
- WA authorised mine surveyor’s certificate (Preferable)
- WA C class drivers Licence
- Current proficiency in Providing First Aid
- Significant experience in a similar level role with demonstrated experience in a leadership capacity
- Proficiency in using mine surveying software with a preference to Surpac
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office software
- Proficiency in using pit wall monitoring software
- Experience in setting up systems, processes and procedures highly regarded
- Hard Rock mining experience highly regarded
