We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Head of Planning and Engineering to join our Networks team in Brisbane on a full time permanent basis.

Reporting to the Group General Manager – Networks, the primary purpose of this position is to lead the National Networks Planning and Engineering Team in delivering best outcomes for all of APA’s stakeholders including clients and regulators.     

Your core responsibilities will include:

• Contribute to the shaping of effective strategies and activity plans to drive growth and support business development whilst providing insights around Network Engineering, design materials, procedures and processes
• Establish and maintain a 3 year workforce plan which supports the planning and engineering team and builds diversification of the workforce
• Identify, design and implement opportunities that will deliver improved safety and efficiency for the business as well as improving our customers/consumers experience
• Identifying, planning and delivering network enhancements and expansions that promote growth in gas haulage and increased utilisation and expansion of the networks
• Provide effective leadership and management whilst driving effective communication and change leadership to the group

To excel in this position you will have the following skills, experience, qualifications and attributes:

• Tertiary qualifications in engineering, (Essential),Post graduate qualifications in a relevant discipline (preferred)
• Chartered Professional Engineer Australia (CPEng Aust) or Registered Professional Engineer Queensland (RPEQ)
• Experience working across multiple levels of an organisation, from interacting and engaging with external and internal stakeholders through to senior executive and Board members
• Experience in challenging existing practices and driving improved business outcomes
• Demonstrates an in-depth knowledge of internal strategy, business plans, understands how it fits into the bigger picture and is attuned to the competitive landscape.  Knowledge includes both current competition and future threats
