CuDECO Limited owns and operates the 3.0Mtpa Rocklands Copper Mine situated near the town of Cloncurry, 121kms east of Mt Isa in N.W. Queensland. CuDECO prides itself in being a regional employer of choice that supports the local community.
CuDECO Rocklands Copper Mine is looking for a suitably qualified Environmental Advisor to join the team in this period of transformation. The Environmental Advisor is an integrated member of the Rocklands team, working within the guidelines of CuDECO's Health and Safety Management System.
The Environmental Advisor is primarily responsible and accountable for:
- Assisting in the implementation of environmental operations of the Site
- Providing support and guidance to the Environmental Field Officer
- Validating and analysing laboratory reported data against trigger and contaminant limits
- Ensuring the timely and accurate internal notification of environmental compliance issues
- Assisting the Environment Superintendent in the establishment and maintenance of the Environmental Management System for tracking and reporting of environmental performance requirements
- Ensuring compliance with environmental policies and procedures
To be successful within the role of Environmental Advisor you will require:
- Bachelor in Natural Resources or Environmental science or TAFE Diploma in similar field with work experience in environmental monitoring preferably in the mining, or related industries, including the operation of modern and commonly used sampling equipment including micro purge equipment.
- Class C Drivers Licence (Manual)
- Ability to undertake field activities in climatic conditions consistent with North Western Queensland
- Understanding of safety and risk management practices and the risk identification processes
- Competent in the use of GPS
- Proven ability to work constructively unsupervised in remote locations
- Demonstrate a positive work ethic
- Self-motivated and good organizational skills
- Good communication skills
The Environmental Advisor role is a permanent full time positioned with a competitive salary, based on a 8:6 roster. Flights are offered from either Townsville or Brisbane or the candidate has the option of being residential in Cloncurry.
