We are seeking an experienced Public Relations and Media Coordinator to work within the Marketing and Fundraising division. Reporting to the Marketing and Communications Manager you will be assisting the PR and Media Senior Coordinator to drive health promotion messages for the LiveLighter campaign through traditional media channels and public relations.

 Your other main responsibilities will include:

  • Support the development, implementation, delivery and evaluation of the LiveLighter campaign and associated program strategy
  • Identify and maintain key strategic relationships with WA media outlets and other key stakeholders
  • Develop and schedule content for LiveLighter social accounts and monitor when necessary
  • Develop ongoing media lead opportunities
  • Evaluate and report on the effectiveness of communications

Who are you?

To be successful in this role you will have the following key attributes:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a public relations, media liaison or journalism role
  • Tertiary qualification in public relations, communications, English or journalism.
  • Well-developed contacts with WA media outlets and journalists
  • Strong understanding of digital media
  • Experience using direct mail platforms is desirable
  • Strong verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Proven organisational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the values of Cancer Council WA
  • Actively foster the development of a culture consistent with the values of Cancer Council WA
  • Positive approach to the workplace

Based in Subiaco, this role is full time.
