About us

Opening in November 2016, Metropolis Events has quickly established itself as one of the hottest event spaces in Melbourne to host gala events, cocktail parties, wedding receptions, product launches, private parties, conferences and corporate events with a difference.

The opportunity

We are seeking a proactive part time Marketing Specialist to drive brand awareness and lead generation through effective content marketing and social media. Naturally, you will be creative with an endless flow of ideas and inspiration, have an aptitude to follow through to implement ideas and concepts, and adopt lateral thinking principals in your marketing plan development.

The details

  • Develop and implement marketing and communication strategies and strategic brand direction
  • Manage marketing expenditure and analyse and provide feedback on the annual marketing budget
  • Coordinate the strategy, content production and publishing for social media and email marketing with a focus on driving engagement, growth and return on investment
  • Provide team with support for strategic business planning process
  • Manage online reviews in a timely manner and refer to management as required
  • Continually review and provide feedback on processes and software use
  • Manage the website to ensure it is up to date and performing as an effective sales and marketing tool
  • Brief and lead digital agencies, design and printers in developing sales collateral and branding
  • Assist with creative concepts in relation to exhibition stand design and the guest experience at external trade shows
  • Keep abreast of trends within the events industry, ensuring Metropolis Events stays aware of competitor marketing and social media
  • Provide monthly reporting on return on investment and analysis

About you

  • Proven experience in developing digital marketing collateral (websites, EDM’s and blogs), and managing a company’s digital footprint (social media, content strategy, SEO, SEM)
  • Ability to clearly brief and manage digital agencies, designers and printers to ensure outcomes are achieved in a timely manner
  • Passion and ability to inspire, engage and influence others
  • Exceptional communication skills – communicating effectively and articulately will come naturally to you
  • Team oriented and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to utilise data for accurate analysis and reporting
  • Knowledge and experience in the events, catering or hospitality industry is preferable but not required
  • A tertiary qualification in marketing, business or similar discipline is highly desirable
  • We are in the entertainment business, so of course you will share our love of food, beverage and events!
