My client is a a global bio-pharmaceutical company committed to improving the lives of patients worldwide via the discovery, development, and marketing of products for the treatment of cancer and other severe, immune, inflammatory conditions.
This newly framed role will require the Public Affairs and Advocacy Manager to take an overall strategic view of the Market Access (MA) plans in relation to strategic advocacy and stakeholder engagement. This person will possess a deep understanding of the access environment in Australia in order to know how how to influence and shape this; working with a diverse portfolio of internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
Internal:
- Work with various Heads of Business to develop local value messages to build trust and confidence in the corporate brand/proposition
- Assist with the development and implementation of public relations, advocacy and government affairs strategies as they pertain to the market access environment; including on a product or production indication basis
- Develop trusted relationships with key stakeholders so as to effectively influence the impact and delivery of key messages
- Provide input into business planning from a public relations and advocacy standpoint
- Stay on point regarding the external market place; across the corporate and political environment
- Work with various business departments (marketing, medical, regulatory) and contribute to product strategies from a patient and HCP advocacy perspective
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, standards and values.
External
- Provide input on PR Advocacy activities; Maintain awareness of stakeholder and policy issues as they might impact
- Develop sophisticated stakeholder plans/strategies and drive their implementation
- Identify opportunities for inter-pharma company discussion, cooperation and collaboration
Skills/Experiece Required:
- Qualifications in science/health/PR
- Good knowledge/understanding of the various functions within a pharma company; and also the external operating environment
- Proven experience influencing and engaging with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders; and developing plans to optimize relationships
- Demonstrable experience in developing advocacy plans and/or working with patient advocacy groups
- Excellent written and verbal presentation skills; able to synthesize complex material/messages
- Strong project management skills/ability to prioritize/work as part of a team
- A minimum of 5 years experience in Public/Corporate Affairs or Advocacy
