The European Bioenergy Research Institute requires a Business Development specialist to work with an applied research team to develop new opportunities in the fields of bioenergy, bioproducts, and energy from waste and energy systems.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the ability to manage a pipeline of opportunities, work to targets within a structured environment, manage a complex workload and develop effective working relationships. Good communication and organisational skills are essential.

The candidate will be actively involved in supporting briefings, consultations, seminars, workshops and demonstrations. Working closely with academics and technologists in EBRI and other University departments as well as other business development professionals to support new industry related business opportunities and collaborative research projects.

You will report to EBRI’s Project Manager and work closely with a wide range of research teams both in EBRI and in the wider university.

Experience in research related business engagement and development especially in bio-energy, energy or energy systems would be advantageous, however the candidate will also need to be able to work with computer science, logistics and life sciences. Ideally you will have a degree in marketing or a business discipline and/or substantial relevant experience.
